Mountsberg Reservoir is a shallow, weed-choked marsh with a flood-control dam bolted on one end. Bronte Creek backs up behind the Mountsberg Dam — 1967 vintage, one of Conservation Halton's four Hurricane Hazel dams — spreading into roughly 190 hectares of warmwater marsh inside Mountsberg Conservation Area at Campbellville.

How it fishes
The reservoir's marsh is a provincially significant waterfowl staging area and a regionally significant waterfowl breeding area, and "supports a vibrant warmwater fish community."
SourceMountsberg Dam (1967) is one of Conservation Halton's four major flood-control dams built in the aftermath of Hurricane Hazel (1954).
SourceNorthern pike are prominent enough that the watershed study recommended a pike management strategy to limit their impact on the native fish community.
SourceMountsberg is one of only a handful of Conservation Halton properties where recreational fishing is permitted (Kelso, Hilton Falls, Mountsberg, Robert Edmondson).

Mountsberg Dam launch
Hand-launch / carry-in for canoes, kayaks, and larger non-motorized vessels (larger craft launch only at the dam). No gas motors; electric trolling motors are the only motorized exception.
